In this article we will introduce the Catalog feature in the Products module. Similar to the Collections feature in the Library, Catalogs provide the opportunity to aggregate Products and then share products' data in a viewer friendly manner to an internal OR external audience.
Catalogs are customizable in terms of the data that can be presented and the title or them of the catalog. They can be created by simply selecting products from the existing product library.
Viewer Friendly
More than a spreadsheet, product data comes to life with linked assets from the library. Catalogs can be used to satisfy multi-department needs, such as information specific to marketing or sales teams, available for controlled and easy distribution.
Navigation:
To find Catalogs, Navigate to Products> Catalogs within the left hand navigation menu.
Within Catalogs, you also have the ability to create a New Catalog in the top left hand corner of catalogs.
Selecting an existing catalog will open a view where the catalog's products are viewable. There are various settings within the catalog to take note of:
1. Adding Products- You can add products to the catalog you are in by selecting +Add Products in the top left area of the catalog.
2. Settings- Allows you to edit catalog data such as the name, product view used, and the Catalog summary or description
Share- Generates a share link URL to copy and send a viewable link to the catalog.
Export Data- Exports Catalog Data into a CSV file
3. Product Types Tabs- Allows you to sort the catalog by product types within the catalog if enabled
4. Grid and List Views Allows you to present products in either grid view to showcase product images that you can click on for further information, or in list view where an information table is visible with each product listed.
Selecting any product navigates you to the details page for that product specifically.
*Note: if you do not see a Products option in your library header then your permissions are not set to access the PIM or it is not applied to your library. You will need to contact your internal admin to gain access to the PIM.
