What is a Channel?

A channel is a collection of attribute data specific to a third party's CSV header naming conventions.

A channel uses the Product Hub's most up-to-date product information by mapping company-specific attribute fields to third-party required fields for CSV exports. These mapped attribute datasets are known as channel templates. These Templates are organized into the Channels, most often specific to Vendors, suppliers, distributors, etc.

The example below shows the CanWel, Home Depot, and Kent Building Supplies channels on the lefthand menu. In the center view, Home Depot's channel can be viewed—specifically, the Siding> Stone Veneers channel template attributes and the products assigned to that channel.

Each channel can include multiple channel templates. These templates may consist of mapped attributes for various product types relevant to that channel and are ready for use in exporting product data associated with that channel.
