Configuration mode allows you to lock elements and configure the ways in which users can and cannot edit your templates for their individual projects.
This article will cover the locking capabilities of elements that you are able to set as a Marketing Template Admin.
Basic Element Locking
Elements of a Template can be locked quickly and simply by using the locking menu on the righthand side of a Marketing Template, underneath the Configuration mode setting.
Lock Controls: Allows you to completely lock the text, images, shapes or background within the template from being editable.
Paging: Allows you to restrict or allow other users the ability to add, clone, or delete pages within the template.
Please note that you must save the locking configuration before continuing to lock further aspects of elements and before previewing to view how your locks impact template editing for users.
Text Related Element Configuration
Once a text box within the editing view is selected while in configuration mode, the left and righthand menus provide granular options for locking configurations for the editing view and the context menu of the element selected.
Lefthand Menu
Lockable Attributes for font in the lefthand menu include:
- Fill Color
- Stroke Controls
- Font
- Font Size
- Text Arrangement
- Alignment to Canvas
- Anchor Position
- Transparency
- Letter Spacing
- Line Spacing
- Text Box Curve
Righthand Menu
Within the Position settings:
- Resize
- Reposition text
- Rotate text
- Force text to the Front
- Text content
Within the Context Menu:
- Alignment
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- All Caps
- Superscript
- Subscript
- Clone
- Delete

Images
Selecting an image within your project template allows you to lock the following controls:

- Contrast
- Saturation
- Vibrance
- Hue
- Blur
Righthand Menu
Within the Position settings:
- Resize

Within the Context Menu Settings:
- Flip Horizontal

Select Apply As Image Default to save your configurations settings before continuing
Shapes
Selecting a shape element within your project template allows you to lock the following controls for the shape:
Lefthand menu
- Add Placeholder Button
- Photo Background Color
- Reposition
- Resize
- Replace image
- Remove Image
- Resize Dimensions
- Arrangement
- Alignment to Canvas
- Transparency
- Separate Grouped Parts
Righthand Menu
Within the Position settings:
- Resize
- Reposition
- Rotation
- Force to front
Within the Context Menu Settings:
- Crop
- Flip Horizontal
- Flip Vertical
- Clone
- Delete
Select Apply As Shape Default to save your configurations settings before continuing
Background
As a template creator, you have the ability to lock the background you choose for the template, or restrict the following:
- The ability to fill the background with a color
- The ability to change the color
- Photo Background Color
- Reposition
- Resize
- Filters
- Remove Images
- Upload (can restrict specific upload types)
Select Save Locking Config to save your configurations settings before continuing
Reviewing Template Settings in User Preview Mode
It is recommended that once you have finished locking elements, to change the view to User Preview Mode to review how other users would interact with the template once published.
User preview mode can be accessed by opening the righthand menu, selecting the lock icon, and selecting User Preview Mode from the dropdown menu:
