Set or Clear an Expiration Date on a File

Setting an expiration date on files that have rights restrictions is a great way to protect them from mis-use. If a file expires it will no longer be able to be downloaded. You might also expire a file as a creative control, if it has been overused for instance.

Go to the Details view of the file for which you wish to set an expiration date.

Click on the Expiration Date field to update. A calendar will pop up to set the new expiration date.

The date setter will get a future email alert when the file expires.

To remove an expiration date altogether simply click Clear, and the expiration date will be removed.

A user can request use of the asset by clicking the Request Use icon in the upper bar.
